What we collect and why
Who we are
W P Purves Electrical Ltd (company number SC535061), trading as WPP Electrical Ltd, of Unit 4 Home Place, Coldstream, TD12 4DT, is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello@wppelectrical.co.uk or on 01890 882981.
What we collect
When you submit our quote form we collect your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the type of enquiry and whatever job details you choose to give us. If you call or email us we hold the contact details and correspondence relating to your enquiry. Where we carry out work for you, we also hold the records and certification associated with that work.
Why we use it
To respond to your enquiry, prepare and send a quote, arrange and carry out work, issue certificates and invoices, and keep the records we are required to keep as an accredited electrical contractor. Our lawful basis is either your consent (in the case of an enquiry), the performance of a contract with you, or our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only where necessary: with our accreditation and certification bodies where a scheme requires notification of work, with our accountants and insurers, and with the service providers who host our website and handle our enquiry emails. Those providers process data on our instructions only.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept only as long as they are useful for following up. Records relating to work carried out, certification, invoicing and insurance are kept for as long as the relevant legal, accounting and scheme requirements demand.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. Contact us using the details above. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
