About us
This website is operated by W P Purves Electrical Ltd (company number SC535061), trading as WPP Electrical Ltd, of Unit 4 Home Place, Coldstream, TD12 4DT.
Website content
The content on this site is provided for general information about our services. It is not electrical advice for a specific installation and should not be relied on as a substitute for an inspection or a written quotation. We take care to keep information accurate and current, but we do not warrant that every page is free from error or omission.
Quotations
Quotations are free and carry no obligation. They are based on the information supplied to us and, where relevant, on a site visit. A quotation is an offer to carry out the work described in it; a contract is formed when you accept that quotation. Work falling outside the scope of the quotation, including conditions that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand, is priced separately and agreed with you before it is carried out.
Carrying out the work
Work is carried out in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition) and the requirements of the schemes we are registered with, and the appropriate certification is issued on completion. You agree to provide safe access to the site and to make us aware of any known hazards or restrictions before we attend.
Emergency and out-of-hours work
Emergency call-outs are available. Out-of-hours attendance for agricultural and domestic emergencies is charged at approximately 1.5 times the standard hourly rate. Rates are confirmed at the time of the call.
Payment
Invoices are payable in accordance with the terms stated on the invoice. Title in any materials supplied remains with us until payment is received in full.
Warranties and manufacturer cover
Equipment we supply carries the warranty offered by its manufacturer: for example, the 25-year panel warranty on solar modules supplied under our MCS certified installations, and the 10-year SolarEdge inverter warranty, broadly matched by SIG Energy. Manufacturer warranties are subject to the manufacturer's own terms and to the equipment being used and maintained as intended. We do not issue a formal written workmanship guarantee, but we always return to put right anything we have done incorrectly.
Liability
We hold £10m employers' liability, £5m public liability, £5m product liability and £70,000 hired-in plant insurance. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our liability in relation to any contract is limited to the value of the work carried out under it.
Cancellation
Where you are a consumer and the contract was concluded away from our premises, you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days. If you ask us to begin work within that period, you may be charged for work carried out before you cancel.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Scots law and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction. See also our privacy policy.
